The voice of Radiskull jumped into the head of Macromedia's Joe Sparks as soon as he drew his first picture of the floating talking skull.

And he knew almost instantly that Radiskull needed a cute-and-cuddly sidekick - Devil Doll.

Sparks hadn't intended for the cartoon to be public - but its address leaked out from Macromedia's employees. The internet wanted Radiskull and Devil Doll!

Sparks animated a second cartoon - again ending it with a bad-ass mystical rap song - and then created a series of cartoons placing his underworld characters into a bizarre love triangle. Devil Doll loves Candy Angel, but Radiskull wants to eat her. ("Angels hurt Radiskull. Very bad!") The wayward angel chases her boy through hell, and fights bats with her candy-related superpowers. Watch out for the she-vampire's voodoo doll!

The cartoons captured something primal with their stark skull-shaped caves and the black-and-red homestead in hell.

How does it end? We'll never know. Sparks lost the rights to the characters shortly before producing its final episode.
